Manual tuition

Manual driving lessons with an independent instructor

Book 5–40 hours of manual driving lessons with an independent instructor. £49 DriveBooked Booking Agent Fee; tuition £45 per hour paid directly to your instructor.

How manual matching works

Transmission is recorded against every instructor account and every booking. When you choose manual, your booking is only ever offered to verified independent instructors whose recorded transmission covers manual tuition — we never substitute the other transmission to force a match.

What you pay

£49 Booking Agent Fee to DriveBooked, and tuition at £45 per hour paid directly to your instructor. Choose 5–40 hours.

DriveBooked fees are paid to DriveBooked for arranging and managing your booking. Driving tuition is charged separately at £45 per hour and paid directly to your independent instructor.

Looking in Lincoln? The main Lincoln learner page covers both transmissions in one place, using the verified coverage and DVSA test-centre records DriveBooked holds. Check manual lessons in Lincoln.

Verified coverage

10 areas with a recorded manual instructor

These are areas where a verified, active independent manual instructor is currently recorded as covering the area. Availability still depends on their diary, so your match is confirmed only when an instructor accepts.

Everywhere else

Other areas you can book manual lessons from

No verified manual instructor is recorded in these areas yet. Booking is postcode-led, so you can still start a booking and enter matching — we simply won't pretend coverage exists.

You can start a booking from any Great Britain postcode. DriveBooked then searches its verified instructor network for an instructor who covers your area — a match is confirmed only when an instructor accepts.

You can start a booking from any Great Britain postcode. Whether we can match you depends on a verified independent manual instructor covering your area and having availability. The towns listed on this page are the ones where a verified manual instructor is currently recorded as covering the area — everywhere else, your booking still enters matching under the published rules.

Tuition is £45 per hour, paid directly to your independent instructor. DriveBooked separately charges a £49 Booking Agent Fee for arranging and managing the booking. The two amounts are never combined.

Yes. Passing your practical test in a manual car gives you a licence that covers both manual and automatic cars. This is a DVSA licensing rule, not a DriveBooked one.

No. Find an Instructor is open to any learner, including complete beginners. A booked practical test is only required for an intensive course.

Transmission is recorded on every instructor account and on every booking. Matching only offers your booking to instructors whose recorded transmission covers manual tuition, so you are never matched with an instructor who cannot teach in a manual car.
