Verification

How DriveBooked verifies driving instructors

Every instructor who can receive a DriveBooked booking has passed each check below and had the evidence reviewed by a person.

The checks

What must be evidenced and reviewed

A verification decision cannot be recorded until every required check has passed and every required document is on file.

Identity

Evidence: Photographic identity document, reviewed by a DriveBooked administrator.

Why: Confirms the person applying is the person named on the instructor badge.

ADI or PDI badge

Evidence: Photographs of the front and back of the current DVSA badge.

Why: Only a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor or a licensed trainee (PDI) may charge for tuition.

Badge number format

Evidence: The badge number is checked against the expected DVSA format.

Why: Catches transcription errors and mismatched paperwork before any pupil is introduced.

Insurance

Evidence: A current insurance document covering paid driving instruction.

Why: A pupil must never be taught in a vehicle that is not insured for tuition.

Vehicle and dual controls

Evidence: Declared tuition vehicle details and confirmation that dual controls are fitted.

Why: Practical tuition requires a suitable, correctly equipped car.

Coverage

Evidence: The DVSA test centres and postcode areas the instructor chooses to cover.

Why: Matching uses the instructor's own coverage — we never assume an instructor will travel.

Availability

Evidence: The days and times the instructor has told us they can teach.

Why: A booking is only offered where the instructor's own availability makes it realistic.

Terms accepted

Evidence: A recorded acceptance of the DriveBooked instructor terms.

Why: Sets out conduct, contact-release rules and how bookings and payment work.

Honesty

What verification does not mean

Being clear about the limits matters more than a reassuring phrase.

Verification confirms the evidence an instructor supplied was reviewed and accepted. It is not a rating, a ranking, or a promise about teaching style or pass rates. DriveBooked publishes no pass-rate claims and no reviews it has not genuinely collected.

Verification also does not mean an instructor is free. Availability changes constantly, which is why a booking is a search rather than a reservation.

FAQs

Verification questions

From the checks the platform actually enforces.

No. Bookings are only ever offered to instructors whose account is verified and active. The check is enforced in the database, not just in the interface, so an unverified account cannot accept a booking even if it tries.

Yes. A verification decision is recorded with an expiry date, and an instructor whose verification has lapsed stops receiving bookings until documents are reviewed again.

Nobody in the network sees them while a search is running. Contact details are released to one instructor only, after that instructor accepts the booking.

No, and we are not affiliated with the DVSA. The DVSA registers Approved Driving Instructors and runs the practical test. DriveBooked checks the evidence an instructor provides and arranges bookings.

No. Joining the DriveBooked network is free: no franchise, no placement fee and no deduction from tuition. Pupils pay tuition directly to the instructor.
