About us

We book instructors. We don't teach.

DriveBooked exists for one problem: learners who need an instructor — often around a practical test date that is already booked — and independent instructors who would rather teach than chase enquiries.

What we do

  • Take your requirements: postcode, transmission, hours and test details.
  • Match your booking against verified independent instructors who cover your area, transmission and test centre.
  • Release the booking to suitable instructors and confirm your match when one accepts.
  • Hold the booking record, the status history and the refund rules that protect you.

What we don't do

  • We don't deliver tuition, own vehicles or employ instructors.
  • We don't take a cut of the hourly tuition rate.
  • We don't promise a specific instructor before one has accepted your booking.
  • We don't publish reviews, ratings or testimonials, because we don't yet have a verified review process.

You buy a search, not a promise

Your DriveBooked fee pays for a genuine instructor search. We never say an instructor is reserved before one has accepted your booking.

Fees and tuition stay separate

Every price on this site shows the DriveBooked fee and the instructor tuition as two distinct amounts, never merged.

Matching is never guaranteed

A booking enters a published matching process. If we cannot match you within the published window, the refund policy applies.

About DriveBooked

No. DriveBooked is a booking and matching agent. We do not employ instructors, own cars or deliver tuition. Every lesson is delivered by an independent driving instructor who runs their own business and holds their own qualifications and insurance.

An independent instructor who accepts your booking through DriveBooked. We record whether an instructor teaches manual or automatic, the areas and DVSA test centres they cover, and their verification state on the platform. Their contact details are released to you only once they have accepted your booking.

Instructors provide their own ADI or PDI details when they register, and DriveBooked records a separate verification status against each account. We publish the verification state we actually hold — we do not claim a badge, endorsement or affiliation from the DVSA, and DriveBooked is not affiliated with the DVSA.

From the booking fee only: £49 for Find an Instructor and £149 for an intensive course. We do not take a percentage of the £45 hourly tuition rate, which is paid in full to the instructor.

You can start a booking from any Great Britain postcode. DriveBooked then searches its verified instructor network for an instructor who covers your area — a match is confirmed only when an instructor accepts. Bookings are postcode-led, so you can book from any Great Britain postcode whether or not we have published a page for your town. Whether an instructor is available in your area at a given time depends on the real instructors who have signed up and their diaries.
