What DriveBooked stores in your browser or loads from other services, and why.
Draft for review. This document is a working draft written to reflect how DriveBooked operates. It has not been reviewed by a solicitor and must be checked and approved before the site goes live.
1. Summary
DriveBooked's public website sets no cookies. We use your browser's local and session storage for a small number of purposes listed below. We use no advertising or marketing tags, and no third-party analytics products.
2. Essential storage (always on)
- Your analytics choice (local storage,
db_analytics_consent_v1): remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so we don't ask on every page. - Sign-in session (local storage): only if you log in as a learner, instructor, school or administrator, to keep you signed in.
- Scroll position (session storage): returns you to the right place when you go back a page. Cleared when you close the tab.
- Referral code (local storage,
drivebooked.referral): only if you arrive through an instructor referral link, so the referrer can be credited when you register. Removed once used or after 60 days.
3. Analytics storage (only with your consent)
If you select Accept, we record anonymous visit statistics on our own systems: how you reached the site (for example a search engine or another website), the pages you visit and steps in the booking journey. Two session storage items support this and are cleared when you close the tab: db_attribution_v1 (traffic source and first page) and db_funnel_session_v1 (a random visit identifier). We never store your IP address, a device fingerprint or the full address of the page you came from.
If you select Reject, or make no choice, none of this is recorded and the site works in exactly the same way. Records of payments, matches and refunds are kept on our servers as part of providing the service, whatever you choose.
4. Third-party services
- Google Fonts: our typefaces load from Google's servers, which receive your IP address in order to deliver them. No cookies are set.
- Stripe: card payments take place on Stripe's own secure checkout page, which is governed by Stripe's own cookie and privacy policies. Stripe is not loaded on our other pages.
5. Changing your choice
Use "Analytics settings" in the website footer at any time to accept or withdraw consent. Withdrawing stops recording straight away and clears the analytics storage described above. You can also clear site data in your browser settings.
